Tours of Eagle's Nest

Eagle’s Nest, the William K. Vanderbilt II estate, is open for visitors. Guests to the mansion and museum have a few options to see this one-of-a-kind estate.

Public Tours

Public tours of the mansion’s living quarters are offered regularly during operational hours. Public tours can be purchased from admissions on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Due to limited availability, tour space may sell out and is subject to change.

Tours are not recommended for children under 8.

Private Tours

The Vanderbilt Museum is offering private tours for small groups. Enjoy your own personalized experience as you and your party tour Eagle’s Nest. Private tours can be scheduled at any time, including when the property is otherwise closed to the public, based on availability.

The museum is currently offering two private tour experiences:

Mansion Tours

Perfect for those interested in history and art, this tour takes your group through the mansion’s grand living quarters. Guests will see over 15 rooms on the tour, carefully preserved to its Jazz Age grandeur, and learn about the history of Mr. Vanderbilt and his family.

 Exhibit Tours

For more adventurous groups, this tour is a must! This tour will take your group through the three historic museum buildings on the estate, where you will learn about Mr. Vanderbilt’s expeditions around the world as you see thousands of natural history specimens and cultural artifacts.
