Forest Bathing at the Vanderbilt Museum:
Exploring Our Beloved Landscape in a New, Exciting Way
Sunday, June 1 | 10:00 am – 12:00pm
$40 Guests | $36 Members Purchase Tickets

Linda Lombardo, Long Island’s first certified forest therapy guide, will lead Forest Bathing, a gentle 90-minute wander through the grounds of the Vanderbilt Estate on Saturday, June 1, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

“Forest bathing” originates in Japan, where it is called Shinrin-yoku—immersing oneself in a forest environment and actively engaging all senses to promote relaxation and well-being.

Lombardo will have participants “stop and connect with the land, the trees, and the water, with invitations designed to slow down, be present, and notice what most of us usually just walk past.” The event will end with a tea ceremony, something herbal that could be foraged from the land, and healthy light snacks.

Ages 18 plus. Please wear closed shoes and clothing suitable for being outdoors. Lombardo will bring organic insect repellent. Participants are welcome to bring their own. Space is limited. Advance registration is required.
