Choose from our Traveling Planetarium, featuring an immersive inflatable dome, or an Interactive Astronomy Presentation, featuring stunning visuals, interactive activities, and hands-on astronomy demonstrations led by one of our educators.

Traveling Planetarium

$400 initial show | $75 each additional show

The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum’s Reichert Planetarium is hitting the road, bringing the wonders of the universe directly to your school! Our wheelchair-accessible inflatable GeoDome Theater creates an immersive planetarium experience for up to 25 students at a time, with visually stunning and engaging astronomy programs designed to spark curiosity and enrich classroom learning. Our educators travel throughout Suffolk and Nassau counties.

Traveling Planetarium Requirements

Minimum floor space of 31′ x 31′
Minimum ceiling height of 14′, clear of hanging lights, projectors, or other equipment
Two available electrical outlets
The floor must be clear of debris before setup
The dome cannot be transported up or down stairs. The setup location must be on the ground level or accessible by ramp or elevator.
Indoor use only
Approximately 1 hour is required for setup and 1 hour for breakdown
The space must have working air conditioning

Fees
Initial Program: $400
Additional Same-Day Programs: $75 each

Interactive Astronomy Presentations

From $250 per session

Led by a Reichert Planetarium astronomy educator, these programs combine visually stunning presentations with hands-on demonstrations to create engaging, interactive astronomy experiences. Programs are available for a range of grade levels and cover a variety of astronomy topics.

Each program lasts approximately one hour.

Elementary and Middle School Programs

Weather Report (Ages 5-7)
Weather types, temperature, and how the sky changes through the year.

The Sun’s energy, the water cycle, and a gravity experiment on the Moon.
