Steve Gittelman, president and CEO of the marketing-research firm Mktg. Inc., has been a Museum trustee since 1989 and served for many years as Board president. “My dream back then was the same as it is now,” he said. “I want to reach kids, lots of them. I want to spark their imaginations through programming. I want them to ask questions about Willie, his fishes and the stars. Most of all I want the non-traditional learners to find excitement in learning their own way.”
Steve, who lives on a small historic farm, divides his time among his career, the Museum, and writing books on the Vanderbilts. His favorite photo of himself shows him on a tractor, plowing his fields in April with a large smile on his face.
The Jaguar Drivers Club of Long Island classic car show, originally planned for Sunday, October 12, has been canceled because of inclement weather. The show has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 18.
