Each year, local designers and garden clubs volunteer their time and creativity to deck the halls of the Eagle’s Nest mansion of Rosamond and William K. Vanderbilt II, home of the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum.

Special Twilight Tours of the Vanderbilt Mansion will be given on Friday and Saturday, December 27-28, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Constructed in stages between 1910 and 1936, the grand, 24-room Spanish Revival house is one of the last of Long Island’s Gold Coast mansions. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

These special tours are a treat for visitors and are among the few times of the year the Vanderbilt family’s private living quarters can be seen at night. Refreshments will be served.

Tickets are available online only. Admission: $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors (student ID, or age 62 plus) and $6 for children 12 and under.
