‘Romeo and Juliet’ in July; ‘Taming of the Shrew’ in August

Each summer, the Arena Players Repertory Theater presents two Shakespeare plays on the Vanderbilt Mansion courtyard stage, where the Mediterranean architecture adds a touch of charm and magic. This year’s playbill features Romeo and Juliet and The Taming of the Shrew.

Theater-goers are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy dinner before the show.

July: Romeo and Juliet
Performances of Shakespeare’s tragedy about two young, star-crossed lovers will be given on July 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29 and 31.

Performances will be given on Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 7:00 p.m.

August: The Taming of the Shrew
The Bard’s classic comedy of love and marriage will be performed on August 3, 7, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28 and 31.
