Grateful Fest 3: Live Music, Live Painting

Grateful Fest 3, celebrating the music of The Grateful Dead, will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014, from 12:00 to 6:30 p.m. on the Great Lawn next to the Vanderbilt Mansion, with spectacular views of Northport Bay and the Long Island Sound.

 

Grateful Fest 3 poster VM-FBThis third annual event, produced by musician and producer Rich Rivkin and featuring live music and live painting by local musicians and artists, will be a benefit for the Vanderbilt Museum’s education programs.

Bands include Half Step, The Electrix, Reckoning and Unbroken Chain.  Tickets: Non-refundable, advance-purchase, on-line – adults $20, $25 at the door. Children ages 5 to 12, $10; children under 5, free.

These unusual afternoons feature several dozen artists who exhibit paintings and paint to the live music. The festivals draw huge crowds that bring beach chairs, blankets and picnic lunches and leisurely enjoy the art, music, greenery and breathtaking surroundings.
