“I started the band in early 2014 with the goal of performing top songs from some of the biggest artists from the 1960s to today,” said band member Mike Zervos, who has been a musician for 30 years. “Our goal was to play music that few bands play anymore, music that’s not heard on the radio much these days.
“We have some of the top musicians and vocalists in the New York City area, and they all bring energy and accuracy to each song.”
Zervos said the band covers a spectrum of artists that includes, Billy Joel, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, Styx, Heart, Melissa Etheridge, C.C Pennison, Donna Summer, Stevie Nicks, Pure Prairie League, the Doobie Brothers, Alicia Keys, Huey Lewis and the News, Tina Arena and Grace Potter.
Other 2017 Steel Silk performances will be at the Amityville, Center Moriches, Harborfields, Floral Park, Hauppauge, Lindenhurst and Bay Shore libraries; Holbrook Country Club; Leisure Glen community in Ridge; and Captree Seafood Festival.
