Planetarium Presents Seasonal Shows

The Vanderbilt Reichert Planetarium offers fun, family-friendly, seasonal shows on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday afternoons, through January 2. Follow the underlined links for details:

2:00 p.m., Season of Light 

Learn about the astronomy of the winter skies, and explore the historic, religious and cultural celebrations of the holiday season – including Christian, Jewish, Celtic, Nordic, Roman, Irish, Mexican and Hopi. Created by Loch Ness Productions.

(Note: “Season of Light” is also shown at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.)

4:00 p.m., Laser Holidays: Musical laser light show 

This festive program features a mix of everyone’s favorite holiday music, from the classical to the modern, all set to fantastic laser light and digital artwork. Songs range from “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” by Tchaikovsky and “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby, to “Winter Wonderland” with the Eurythmics, and “Christmastime” with Smashing Pumpkins. Created by Audio-Visual Imagineering.

Prices include General Admission and Planetarium Show Ticket:

  • Adult: $14
  • Senior/Student (age 62-plus, or student ID): $13
  • Children age 12 and under: $11
