Comedy-Tragedy opens at Vanderbilt Carriage House on April 17
Martin McDonagh’s The Beauty Queen of Leenane is the next main stage production by the Arena Players Repertory Theater and will open on Friday, April 17, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. in the Carriage House Theater at the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum, 180 Little Neck Road, Centerport.


This comedy-tragedy looks at the life of Maureen Folan, a 40-year-old single woman who takes care of her selfish and manipulative 70-year-old mother Mag. Maureen’s sisters have escaped into marriage and family life. But Maureen, with a history of mental illness, is trapped in a seriously dysfunctional relationship with her mother.
The Beauty Queen of Leenane will play for four weekends: April 17, 19, 24, 25 and 26 (no performance on April 18) and May 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, and 10. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $20 on Friday and Sunday, $25 on Saturday.
