New Planetarium Show: ‘Musical Space Journey’

Musical Space Journey, uses the Planetarium’s cutting-edge, full-dome video and surround-sound technology present breathtaking images of space, 3-D animation, and an extraordinary spectrum of music. Free-flowing abstract imagery, synchronized with rock music immerses the audience, taking them on a visceral and emotional voyage that transcends space and time.

Beginning June 20, 2014, Musical Space Journey will be showing on Friday and Saturday evenings at 9:00.

In creating this show, the Planetarium’s technical-production staff sought to avoid overly popular and cliché themes and to achieve impact and timelessness. Audiences will be carried through the universe, immersed in a world of sound and light.

The featured music is a delightfully eclectic mix of electronic, urban contemporary, classic rock, and Latin jazz. Artists include Kool & the Gang, Black Sabbath, Marvin Gaye, Wendy Carlos, Cal Tjader, and Pink Floyd.
