William Vanderbilt was fascinated with the natural world. He traveled by ship around the world twice, visiting new places and collecting for his little museum. On these expeditions, he recorded the weather, his observations on diverse landscapes, and daily life on his ship.
You don’t have to leave home to enjoy nature and learn something new. Discoveries can be made on a nature walk or in your own backyard.
