It might be early September, but it’s still summer at the Vanderbilt. And there’s still one more Midsummer Night Dance—tomorrow, Thursday, September 4, 2014: Salsa Night. Join us from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Celebration Tent on the Great Lawn next to the Vanderbilt Mansion.
This week the featured dance step is salsa, with instruction provided by the energetic Antz Joseph. The evening will feature door prizes and raffles, including two private dance lessons donated by Oleg and Lena Skrypnyk of Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Huntington Station, one month of group dance lessons donated by Alfred of Rhythmology Dance Studio in Westbury, and tickets to the Vanderbilt Planetarium.
While the step of the week is salsa, there will be other types of dancing throughout the night. The season is co-produced with C & D Productions, Inc. Gates open 6:00. Dance lessons, 6:30 to 7:00, with dancing until 9:30. The evening includes light dinner fare at 7:00 from Delicatessen and Caterers 51 Broadway. Admission: $30 at door; $25 in advance.
