2015 Halloween Fun for Young Children

Workshops for Ages 3-4 and K-2, Plus a Party

Young children can have Halloween fun in October at the Vanderbilt Museum. The museum’s Education Department has planned two workshops – one for ages 3 and 4, the other for grades K-2 – and a Halloween party for grades 2-5.

Pumpkins LRTuesday, October 20

Storytelling and Owl Craft

10:00- 11:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-4, with an adult

$15 / $13.50 for Members

Listen to a not-so-spooky story in the Bird Room, and make an owl sculpture out of recycled materials.

Monday, October 12

Ravenous Raptors

Kindergarten – Grade 2

10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

$20 / $18 for Members

Learn what makes raptors such great hunters, and make an owl sculpture using modeling clay.

Friday, October 16

Halloween Party

Grades 2 – 5

6:30-8:30 p.m.

$30 / $27 for Members (pizza and drink included)

Join us for some creepy fun!  We‛re turning off the lights for a scavenger hunt in the collections galleries, and will create specimen jars that can be used in any spooky Halloween display. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes (no masks, swords, or wands).

Advance registration is required for all workshops.  Please call 631-854-5539 to register.  Workshop fees are due at the time of registration. The Museum reserves the right to cancel any workshop not meeting the minimum attendance requirement.
