Halloween Fun for Children

Spooky Science Lab, Ravenous Raptors, Owl Craft, Stories

The Vanderbilt Museum has planned some Halloween fun this month for children – from pre-school through fifth grade. These fun, creative workshops are offered by educators in the Vanderbilt Education Center. The Museum is located at 180 Little Neck Road, Centerport, N.Y.

Monday, October 23

Story and Owl Craft

Children ages 3-4, with an adult. From 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. Fee: $20 / $18 for members.

Listen to a story, look for owls and other raptors in the Vanderbilt Museum bird collection, and make an egg carton owl “sculpture.”

 

Sunday, October 29

Ravenous Raptors

Kindergarten-Grade 3. From 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. Fee: $20 / $18 for members.

Explore the collections, learn about raptors and vultures, and make a pinecone owl.

 

Friday, October 20

Mr. Vanderbilt’s Spooky Science Lab

Grades 2-5. From 6:00 –to 8:00 p.m. Fee: $20 / $18 for members.

Join us for some creepy fun! We’ll turn off the lights for a scavenger hunt in the collections galleries, and we’ll create jars that can be used in a spooky Halloween display.
