Fall Workshops for Children

Exploring the collection galleries before Halloween

Children can learn, create and have fun in fall workshops offered by the Learning Center at the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum. The Center is located on the Museum grounds at 180 Little Neck Road, Centerport, NY 11721.

Most Museum workshops run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, except where indicated. Fee: $20 / $18 for members. Advanced registration is required. For more information or to register, please call 631-854-5539.

The Vanderbilt Education Department also offers FREE children’s activities with Admission on weekends.

Halloween Party

Friday, October 25, 4:00 – 6:00 pm

It’s lights out in the Museum! We’ll explore the collections with flashlights in a not-so-spooky tour then create a creepy jar perfect for Halloween. Fee: $20 / $18 for members.

A Kid’s Life at ‘Eagle’s Nest’

Saturday, December 7, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Children will tour the decorated mansion with an educator and learn about the Vanderbilt family, while playing games and listening to music and radio programs of the 1930s.
