How would you like to begin your holiday season where Hollywood stars and European royalty once dined with members of one of America’s most famous families?
You can do that at the elegant, century-old, Spanish Revival mansion of Rosamond and William Vanderbilt on a hilltop overlooking Northport Bay. The annual Holiday Dinner is planned for Saturday, December 1, with a seating of 50 at 8:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by Northwell Health.
The grand mansion – listed on the National Register of Historic Places – is decorated for the holidays each year by local designers and garden clubs, which adds charm and magic to this exclusive evening.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a glass of Prosecco. The evening begins with wine and passed hors d’oeuvres in the natural-history galleries, followed by a guided tour of the family’s living quarters in the Mansion.
The formal dinner is served in the glass-walled Northport Porch overlooking the harbor lights. Dessert, an assortment of cakes and fresh fruit, will be served in the Lancaster Room.
Menu: Prime Rib; Chicken Champagne stuffed with asparagus, red pepper and prosciutto with a champagne sauce; Herb Crusted Salmon; Risotto Primavera. All entrees served with Potatoes Au Gratin and Beans Almandine. Included: wine, beer, coffee, tea, and Viennese dessert table. Cold table and passed hors d’oeuvres.
Seating is limited, by reservation only, and sells out quickly. Tickets: $135, or $125 for members. Available online only. Guests can choose entrées when they purchase tickets.Purchase Tickets
